The story
Why we started.
We teach first grade during the school year, which we love — but summers move slowly, and we both wanted a way to stay busy and help our community at the same time.
So we started Next Door Clean. The idea was simple: bring the same care, patience, and attention to detail we give our classrooms into other people’s homes. Show up when we say we will. Treat every home like it belongs to a friend.
That’s still how we run it today. When you hire Next Door Clean, you’re hiring the two of us — no anonymous crew, no franchise phone tree, no upsells. Just two local teachers, doing good, honest work.

Since 2024, Courtney has been a co-owner of Next Door Clean alongside her work in the classroom. She brings patience, attention to detail, and a warm sense of hospitality into every home.
Ali Gibson
Co-owner · First-grade teacher · West Des Moines
Ali co-founded Next Door Clean with Courtney in 2024. Her habit of noticing the small things — the details that make a room feel truly cared for — comes straight from the first-grade classroom.
